Religious Education

Mission

Mission Statement: The ministry of Religious Education flows from the mandate of Jesus to go into the whole world and teach the Good News. The Religious Education Program of Saint Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church is rooted in this decree and nourishes a community of faith. This community is dedicated to sharing, nurturing, and strengthening faith, thus enabling the manifestation of the Gospel message of Jesus through worship in community and in service.

Wee Praise

This year, starting in the Fall of 2017, there will not be Pre-K or Kindergarten religious education offered. However, during Mass children will have the opportunity to attend Wee Praise during the liturgy and homily. During Wee Praise, children will be given a small snack while they listen to the Gospel reading and discuss its meaning and how it applies to them at their young age. They will then return for the Eucharist during Mass. Children attending Wee Praise will fill out a separate form. There is no fee for Wee Praise. Wee Praise will be offered to children in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade.

Right Of Christian Initiation For Adults (RCIA)

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) introduces one to the beauty and richness of the Catholic faith through prayer, small group sharing, formal instruction, and special rites. Adults participate for many reasons. Some are just curious about the Catholic Church and would like to learn more about it. Others are searching and feel that perhaps the Catholic Church is for them. Still others were baptized Catholic, but did not continue on to receive Eucharist and Confirmation.
