It is the mission of the Bereavement Ministry to “console” members of the parish community who have suffered the loss of a loved one. Bereavement Ministers are compassionate individuals who provide love and care to the grieving, helping to meet their needs during this most difficult time of their faith journey.
We also provide community support in the funeral rites, home visits to the bereaved, a “listening ear,” confidentially, and help in whatever way the bereaved requests. Examples are prayer support, Holy Communion, child care, meals, grocery shopping, home care services, transportation, and cards and letters of support. “No member of the faith community should grieve alone”.
